LCS SPANISH IMMERSION CONNECTION
Hello and welcome! I'm Kelly Burney, Lansing Christian School's Spanish Immersion Point Person. I'm so glad you're here! At LCS we believe that children learn best when we are all working together. So in order to help our families support their child or children on the journey to becoming Spanish speakers, I'll be updating this blog site with school and classroom news, articles, tips, and other information I hope that you will find helpful. I welcome your feedback and questions about the program, curriculum, and your role as a Spanish Immersion family member. You can feel free to contact me anytime at kburney@lansingchristian.org. I'm looking forward to a great year of working with you and our awesome students and teachers as we embrace faith, family, and learning in a Christ-center, immersive educational setting!

So I don't know about you, but one of the most frequent questions I get as a parent of a Spanish immersion student is, "What about homework? How do you help when it's in another language?" One of the things I love about this program is that there isn't much homework....

October has been a busy month in our immersion classes. The end of first quarter arrived, some great fall field trips were taken, and of course, the students prepared some awesome presentations for our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration earlier this month. The day b...

Whew! It's hard to believe we have officially entered the fall season. It definitely feels more like we should be at the beach or pool than in the classroom. But, our students are off to a great start. It's amazing to see the progression from year to year and even...

Thursday, August 24 was Maestra Arensault's birthday, so on Friday, August 25 the class ended the day with a bit of surprise party for Maestra. Everyone enjoyed some yummy snacks, Maestra opened some gifts, and of course there was the singing of "Feliz Cumpleanos."...

About 2 weeks ago, a friend shared an app with me. I think its a fairly well known app, but it was new to me and after a couple of days of using it, I knew I needed to share it with you all. The FREE app is called duoLingo. It's available for Andriod and iOS devices...
