Recommended Resource #2

Whew! It's hard to believe we have officially entered the fall season. It definitely feels more like we should be at the beach or pool than in the classroom. But, our students are off to a great start. It's amazing to see the progression from year to year and even from first day until now. Students are really getting into the swing of things. Hopefully you are finding a routine that works for you at home as well.

One thing you have heard over and over from meetings and newsletters and teachers is the importance of reading with your child each night. I want to share a resource with you that you may want to use to accomplish that "homework assignment."

On the newly added "Resources and Links" page of this website, you will find links to the digital copies of the 1st and 2nd grade decodable readers that come with our reading curriculum. (These books are not available for our kindergarten students, but stay tuned because we have another great resource coming your way soon!) I'm sharing the link for the Spanish books as well as the English books so that you can see what your child's peers are currently working on in the English track.

None of the books you access here are considered mandatory work for your child to go through. We just wanted to provide them as an option for the parents asking, "What should we read?" or who are looking for more on level practice of home. Of course it is beneficial to read a variety of materials to and with our children, but these books will be good practice for them as they learn to read independently.

So, happy reading! Happy Friday! And, stay cool!
